She holds an M.Des in Fashion & Textile and a B.Sc. in Fashion, and has built her work around one belief: understanding the “why” behind every “how” is what truly makes a designer confident.
With years of experience in fashion education and pattern making, Ilma has worked closely with fashion students, aspiring designers, and emerging brands, helping them understand pattern making not just as a technical process, but as the foundation that brings a design to life.
Her approach goes beyond simply teaching formulas or steps. She believes that when students understand fit, proportion, balance, construction, and pattern manipulation, they gain the confidence to create their own designs rather than depend on ready-made patterns.
Through Fashion Pattern Lab, she brings together her experience as a designer, educator, and pattern maker to create a space where fashion enthusiasts can learn, experiment, create, and turn ideas into well-constructed garments.
